Description

This vintage mud cloth textile has an unusual quality cotton - it feels almost linen like, and has slubs in the weave - for those of you who like extra texture. It is navy blue, with hand knotted fringes on one side. Like all hand crafted and vintage fabrics, there can be imperfections, mends and wear which add to the character and uniqueness of each piece. Always one of a kind, this African mud cloth is hand loomed and hand dyed using indigo - a natural plant dye. It was woven in strips which were then hand stitched together to create a stunning one of a kind piece which can be used as a throw, a wall hanging, tablecloth, or repurposed into pillowcases, a poncho etc.... 100% cotton 58" x 38" plus small fringe #202S Hand washed with an unscented natural soap, line dried in the northern California sun and ready for you. Smoke and pet-free home. I recommend hand washing and line drying. Due to camera and screen differences, the color of the item may you receive may be different than what you see.
