Description

This is a lovingly and carefully crafted up-cycled pendant made from fine bone china. Each piece is a unique, with its own shape and character. This is because the china is broken (with a small hammer), trimmed with a tile cutter and then the sharp edges are ground until smooth. The edge is embellished with high quality gold ceramic paint. Breaking rather than cutting the china broken means that each piece is a revelation. Most of my china is sourced from the broken goods box kept by many antique stores and from small, local op shops. This uniquely shaped piece was created from an antique Japanese Satsuma egg shell cup. Before it was accidentally broken at my local antique shop, the cup and saucer was priced at $295. The pendant is large and heavy, measuring 1.8 cm wide and 5 cm high , including bail (1 cm). The pendant comes with a gold tone necklace, which is 44 cm in length.
